Rep. Scott Perry statement about Sgt. Bergdahl and prisoner exchange:

         "Like all Americans, I'm truly relieved that Sgt. Bergdahl is safe and on his way home. Many have expressed concerns about the situation leading up to his capture. Like all service members, I believe that Sgt. Bergdahl is entitled to a fair investigation and due process to determine exactly what happened leading up to his capture.

          I agree with the Democrat Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, that the President violated the law by not properly informing Congress of the details of the prisoner exchange. I'm glad the House Armed Services Committee has announced hearings to investigate whether trading Sgt. Bergdahl for five senior Taliban leaders puts our troops, diplomatic personnel, Americans abroad at greater risk, and whether the President violated the law by not properly notifying Congress prior to the exchange."
