WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Scott Perry (PA-4) is proud to announce his subcommittee assignments for the 113^th session of Congress.  He serves on the Foreign Affairs, Homeland Security and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.

      On the Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Perry will serve on the Asia and the Pacific and the Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade subcommittees. For the Homeland Security Committee, he will serve on the Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies and the Emergency Preparedness, Response and Communications subcommittees. Within the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, he has been assigned to the Highways and Transit subcommittee, the Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials subcommittee and the Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management subcommittee.

“These assignments are a tremendous opportunity for me to effectively serve the people of the 4^th Congressional District,” said Perry.  “Whether ensuring that Pennsylvania and our region have the necessary transportation funding to help improve safety and promote economic growth, better protecting our citizens and our homeland against terrorism or promoting a robust and sensible foreign policy, these subcommittee assignments will help me to be a strong advocate for the people that I serve.”

            Each of Congressman Perry’s committees has outlined aggressive agendas for the 113^th Congress. The Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by Congressman Ed Royce (R-CA), will seek to provide effective oversight of American foreign policy and foreign aid, give a greater focus to Asia and respond to security threats and new governments in the Middle East. The Homeland Security Committee, chaired by Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX), has identified four major threats facing our country: international and domestic terrorism; cyber attacks; unsecured borders; and poor management practices at the Department of Homeland Security.  The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, chaired by neighboring Pennsylvania Congressman Bill Shuster, will focus on strengthening the nation’s transportation network and reforming programs for a more competitive and prosperous America.

            Congressman Perry’s offices in Gettysburg, York and Washington, D.C. have been open to serve constituents since his first day in office. His office to serve the residents of Cumberland and Dauphin counties, located in Wormleysburg, will open within the next two weeks.
