Dear Friend,
Here is a summary of what we did in the U.S. House of Representatives this week. Watch this week's legislative update here.

During the Oversight Committee hearing, I questioned the Office of Budget and Management on President Biden’s Executive Order requiring every federal agency to register voters. We need to see the plans for this Order to ensure all voter registration efforts are nonpartisan. Unfortunately, the witness was unwilling or unable to answer any of my questions.

I chaired the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing on Disaster Mitigation: Reviewing the Effectiveness and Costs of FEMA’s Resilience Programs.
FEMA gives handouts to wealthy States with expert grant writers, while the States that most need emergency support foot the bill. FEMA must use its funding to counter the effects of potential natural disasters instead of giving handouts to wealthy States. Smaller, rural communities need access to mitigation funding.
Natural Resources Week
I introduced the American LNG First Act this week. This bill would allow Liquified Natural Gas to be transported between U.S. ports, which leads to lower energy prices and increased access to domestic energy. This bill is critical for the American People and our energy freedom.
Pro-Terrorist Protests on College Campuses
We cannot ignore the pro-Hamas protests taking place on college campuses across America. While some characterize these protests as pro-Palestinian, make no mistake: they’re antisemitic. While the language in the Antisemitism Awareness Act wasn’t perfect, we need to speak - loudly - against antisemitism.
