Today, U.S. Representative Scott Perry (PA-10) was named a top Champion of Limited Government by the Institute for Legislative Analysis. The Institute ranked Rep. Perry on his voting record as most aligned with the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution. The ranking was based on nearly 65,000 votes – the most expansive study performed on Members of Congress. “It’s my mission to reduce the role, scope, and influence of the federal government while enhancing and protecting individual freedoms for the People of Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District,” said Rep. Perry. “I'm honored to be recognized as one of the top Members fighting for limited government and will continue this fight.” The Institute for Legislative Analysis study was the most expansive study on U.S. Congressional voting trends. The study found that only 21% of Members of Congress have voting records that aligned at least 80% of the time with the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution. “The latest study by the Institute for Legislative Analysis confirms that Representative Scott Perry is one of just four members in all of Congress with a voting record that aligns 100% with the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution,” said ILA CEO Ryan McGowan. “When it comes to fiscal responsibility, there is arguably no one in Washington fighting harder than Rep. Perry to end the out-of-control spending and defuse our national debt time bomb. Last session, Rep. Perry introduced countless amendments to restore fiscal sanity and cut waste within government – many of which can be found within the ILA scorecard. We thank Representative Perry for all his work and are proud to present him the “Champion of Limited Government” award.” |
