Perry Statement on Signing of Israel-UAE-Bahrain Abraham Accords

U.S. Representative Scott Perry (PA-10) today released the following statement on the signing of The Abraham Accords and applauds President Trump for his leadership in brokering important breakthroughs in Israel-UAE and Israel-Bahrain relationships.

“The historic agreements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain are a significant step towards a more prosperous, peaceful, and secure Middle East, and represents one of the region’s biggest diplomatic breakthroughs in over 25 years. I applaud President Trump for his steadfast leadership, and for proving that, through dialogue, commitment and friendship, our world can embrace peace and connection. I congratulate Prime Minister Netanyahu, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed and King Hamad, as well as the People of Israel, UAE, and Bahrain on this momentous achievement, and offer my full support as they begin this new relationship,” said Congressman Perry.

Announced in August, the Israel-UAE normalization agreement marked the first Gulf country and the third Arab country to have full diplomatic relations with Israel since its declaration of independence in 1948.

On Friday, September 11, the Trump Administration announced the normalization of diplomatic relations between Israel and Bahrain – marking the second Gulf and fifth Arab country to normalize relations with Israel.

President Trump was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his leadership and work to broker the Abraham Accords.
