February 23, 2018
Washington, D.C. – Students from the 4th Congressional District interested in applying for admission to one of the United States Service Academies are encouraged to attend one or both informational sessions hosted by Congressman Scott Perry. The first is on Wednesday, March 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Red Lion Area Senior High School, 200 Horace Mann Avenue, Red Lion. The second is on Thursday, March 29, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Gettysburg Area High School, 1130 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg.
Congressman Perry and his staff will provide guidance, the process for applying for a Congressional Nomination, and a brief overview of each Academy. The U.S. Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Merchant Marine Academy each require a nomination from either the President, Vice President or Member of Congress. While the U.S. Coast Guard Academy requires no nomination, a representative will be present for informational purposes, as will representatives from various Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. All students are welcome to attend these events, but only students who reside in the 4th Congressional District of Pennsylvania may apply for a nomination from Congressman Perry. Students also may receive information about the application process by calling one of the Congressman’s District Offices: Adams County / 717-338-1919; Cumberland and Dauphin Counties / 717-635-9504; and York County / 717-600-1919. |
