Perry Supports Conceal Carry Reciprocity Act

Congressman Perry offered the following statement after the House passed, H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act:

"As a lifetime member of the NRA - National Rifle Association of America and State Legislator who authored the Castle Doctrine (the “Stand Your Ground” law in Pennsylvania), few are stronger advocates of the Second Amendment than I. Unequivocally, Americans have a right to own the firearm of their choice to defend their lives, families, and possessions. I was proud to co-sponsor and vote in favor of H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which advances the Constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens by authorizing you to legally carry a concealed firearm from one state to another where concealed carry is already legal. The bill doesn’t expand conceal carry to every state, and provides a balance that respects the rights of both individuals and states. While no bill is perfect, this allows us to secure Second Amendment rights across state lines, further eroding the patchwork of laws that inhibit our Constitutionally-enshrined freedoms. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues in the Senate to advance the proposal."
