Perry Supports CHIP Reauthorization
Washington,
November 3, 2017
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Scott Perry offered his support to reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) by voting in favor of the bipartisan Championing Healthy Kids Act of 2017, HR 3922.
“CHIP’s important to the wellbeing of millions of kids Nationwide - especially in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I was proud to support this bill and am optimistic that the House and Senate will come to an agreement quickly for the benefit of everyone who depends on this program,” said Congressman Perry. In September, Congressman Perry joined with the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation to advocate for renewed authorization for this program. Although the funding mechanism for the program expired on September 30, available resources in Pennsylvania aren't expected to run out until February 2018. The bill now goes to the Senate for further consideration. |
