Perry Touts Benefits of Tax Reform

Hosts Roundtable Discussion with Area Small Businesses and Credit Unions

York, PA—Congressman Scott Perry met with small businesses, and representatives from local credit unions and community banks at the Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union in York to discuss the latest on efforts in Washington to pass both tax reform and regulatory relief plans.

“For far too long Washington has stifled the power of the free market. We’ve had the weakest economic recover

y in 70 years, and despite record high closings in the stock market, we need to do better for hardworking Americans. Even if 401Ks and other retirement accounts are growing, we need to focus our attention on higher wages for our citizens. Reducing taxes and eliminating government roadblocks to economic growth will lead to quality paying jobs right here at home and around the Country,” said Perry, who spent almost two hours fielding questions about financial regulatory changes and tax reform, and listening to concerns about the economic climate around the region.

“We are excited to have a Congressman who cares about the issues impacting his community, as well as the country! Having an open forum such as this was insightful as well as encouraging to the group,” said Tim Ames, President & C.E.O of Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union.

Perry was hopeful that some of these legislative changes will permanently bolster the US economy. “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unleash the power of the American People; we can’t miss our shot. We need to ensure our local economy and small businesses can thrive, and provide greater opportunity for our communities,” Perry concluded.
