Press Releases

Rep. Scott Perry released the following statement in remembrance of the horrific events of 9-11-01

“Like most Americans, I remember the morning of September 11, 2001, like it was yesterday. The tragic events of that day affected each of us in different ways, but we all remember where we were and who we were with when we heard the terrible news.  America has not yet healed from the wounds of those cowardly and terrifying attacks.

With each passing year, this Anniversary serves as a moment of reflection and a time to remember the brave and selfless acts of our first responders, our military and the "ordinary" citizens who committed extraordinary acts of heroism. Most importantly, we must never forget the thousands of innocent people who died in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia on that horrifying day only 14 years ago.

Today, I join my fellow Americans in prayer and remembrance - in whatever way you choose to honor this day, please do so.   Today is also a stark reminder that the fight for our Nation's security, safety, freedom and liberties is far from over, and our strength and vigilance is as important now as then. Today – and always – not only must we "never forget", we must REMEMBER.

To the souls of the innocent and the brave lost on/as a result September 11, 2001, we pray that you're resting in peace but continue to give us strength and implore us to ensure that we may never again suffer such horror as a Nation.  God Bless America."
