Rep. Scott Perry Statement in Remembrance of 9/11/01

Rep. Scott Perry released the following statement in remembrance of the horrific events of 9-11-01:

“Like most Americans, I remember the morning of September 11, 2001, like it was yesterday. The tragic events of that day affected each of us in different ways, but we all remember where we were and who we were with when we heard the terrible news. While America has begun to heal from the wounds of those cowardly and terrifying attacks over the last decade, scars remain.

With each passing year, this Anniversary serves as a moment of reflection and a time to remember the brave and selfless acts of our first responders and the ordinary citizens who committed extraordinary acts of heroism. Most importantly, we will never forget the thousands of innocent people who died in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Today I join my fellow Americans in prayer and remembrance of those who lost their lives on that fateful day. Today also is a reminder that we must remain vigilant about our country’s security and safety. Waiting for an imminent attack will cost American lives, as we learned on September 11, 2001, and on September 11, 2012, in Benghazi. Today – and always – we must remember.”
