Congressman Perry's Statement on Third Anniversary of Obamacare

“Three years after passage of President Obama’s health care law, costs continue to rise, new government mandates and regulations appear every day and billions in new tax increases are about to hit our economy. Obamacare will cut $716 billion from Medicare to pay for expanded government. Obamacare will cause 7 million Americans to lose their job-based health insurance. According to a study from the Hudson Institute, Obamacare’s employer mandate jeopardizes the jobs of up to 3.2 million full-time employees in the franchise industry.  In Pennsylvania over 110,000 jobs are at risk.

We need patient-centered reforms that guarantee that patients, families and doctors are in control of their own health care decisions. Instead of empowering Washington, we need common-sense solutions that include enacting tort reform, allowing Americans to purchase quality health coverage across state lines, and expanding access to consumer choices in health care options. We need real reforms that expand access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans.”
