Statement from Rep. Perry on NLRB Ruling

Statement on NLRB Ruling

Rep. Scott Perry issued the following statement today after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled President Barack Obama’s January 2012 recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) unconstitutional:

“President Obama has shown a willingness time and again to govern through executive fiat, rather than follow the rules our founding fathers laid out in the Constitution,” said Rep. Scott Perry (PA-04). “Today’s U.S. Court of Appeals opinion should remind the President that he simply cannot ignore the Constitution.  The Obama administration has consistently used the NLRB to impose regulations that local employers tell us will hurt the economy. If this ruling stands, it would invalidate all the decisions made by the NLRB since the recess appointments. As such, the NLRB should cease all activity until qualified nominees are constitutionally appointed to the board.”
